My story...

I'm going to be open & vulnerable with you... I'm really uncoordinated, exercise & sport used to make me anxious, & I had pretty terrible rhythm until I started teaching Pilates!!

But I've learnt that we can all achieve whatever we want if we work at it & move past the fear...

Yoga has taught me to accept fear, acknowledge it and move through it instead of letting it block my path. It's given me the confidence to accept the person I am but also the courage to try new things! (Like becoming a Pilates & barre teacher...) Yoga & meditation have honestly changed my life, my relationship with myself & my relationship with the world. Pilates & barre allowed me to feel even more comfortable in my own skin & taught me to share what feels FUN!

I love that yoga, Pilates, barre & meditation have taught me all of these things, and I know they have yet to teach me so many things! I will forever be a student, all teachers are! I absolutely LOVE being a teacher and sharing all these amazing benefits with the world!

(Ps I also still can't do a handstand but yoga also taught me that handstands don't make you a good person!)

What's it all about?

Yoga

I teach vinyasa flow yoga. I love how each movement flows seamlessly into the next guided by each breath. I sequence my classes to perfectly balance strength and flexibility in all areas of your body, and I love to weave yoga philosophy throughout our flow. Yoga is perfect for improving balance, strength and flexibility, and always leaves you feeling connected, blissful and uplifted! Yoga is perfect during times of stress, anxiety, depression or loneliness.

Meditation

When I guide meditation I generally like to start with a breathing practise (pranayama) to harness & quiet the mind first. I also particularly love guiding my students through chakra meditations and visualisations. Meditation is a beautiful practise and will help with any mental, emotional or mood challenges as well as with stress, anxiety and insomnia.

Pilates

I teach power Pilates which combines breath awareness, exercise and FUN! The movements are small and controlled, but SUPER effective! You'll know the workout is really working but you won't EVER finish feeling broken as this practise is very supportive. Pilates is amazing for toning, improving strength and balance, and increasing flexibility. My playlists are always full of deep house & techno tunes to get the body & heart pumping!

Barre

Basically Pilates inspired by movements & positions from ballet. But don't be scared, you do NOT need to be good at ballet! It's a little more intense than Pilates, with more cardio & standing poses, burning more calories & getting you nice & sweaty! In studios we use the support of a ballet barre, at home you can use a sturdy chair, table, bench or anything that's about hip height! Barre is great for weight loss, fitness, toning, improving strength & increasing flexibility. I teach barre to deep house & techno tunes too!

Love from happy souls

This was my last ditch effort to try and save what little hope I had that my body would feel healthy with freedom of movement and strength.

That first session with you was life changing, it was one of the best most soul saving sessions I have ever had. I cried on the way home because I knew right then there was hope. And it’s not just being shown that my body can and wants to move in a different way but the light and love you bring to our sessions. The always present warmth of your smile and the infectious giggles that surround you. Each session has progressively opened my body up and allowed it to be happy and healthy. I now can touch my toes! My shoulder pain has all but disappeared, I am a happier mum and wife. And not that this was my goal but have dropped 8kgs and am leaner and stronger.

I have been dedicated to Pilates, barre and yoga for 3 months, the sessions always amaze me in what our bodies naturally want to do. And how important it is to BREATHE!!!

But you know what it is actually the smiles and warmth and community feeling that keeps me coming back. The laughter that comes from our sessions and your in-depth knowledge. Alternative is now my ultimate. Peace over gains. Don’t fear the words little dip; little lift. “So strong” means this may hurt a little but not for long. The love and light inside of you has brought me back to life, and I am one stubborn corporate hard nut to crack. I know the world is changing rapidly but I just wanted to let you know how you have changed mine. x

She is good vibes, compassionate, centred, peace-filled, wise and knowledgeable. She explains poses clearly and gives lots of options for modifying them to fit your body’s individual needs. She always asks if anyone has a special request before class. She is clearly there to serve and to help and I love her head massages.

I always feel peaceful and refreshed after her class. Also as a vegan chef she gives a holistic approach to practice and cooks yummy food too. Yoga with Susie has done wonders for my physical and emotional health, she is my yogi guru!”
